Find what's really behind your bloating.

Bloating is rarely just one thing. Minthe helps you spot the foods, the timing, and the everyday stuff – stress, sleep, your cycle – that drive yours. No guilt, no streaks, no calorie counting.

Coming soon to iPhone. Free to log, always.

What Minthe does

Log what you eat and how you feel. Minthe looks for patterns, tells you honestly how confident it is, then helps you actually test the ones that matter.

Log meals fast

Snap a photo, scan a packaged label, or type a dish. Minthe breaks it into the likely culprits and catches hidden triggers like inulin, onion powder, sorbitol, gums and emulsifiers.

Track how you feel

Bloating, gas, pain, reflux, stool form on the Bristol scale and more, in a few taps. Severity reads as more or less, never good or bad.

Honest pattern finding

Real statistics: your own base rate, effect sizes, confidence intervals. It tells you when there isn't enough data yet, instead of a confident guess. See the method.

Gut-brain and cycle aware

Surfaces high-stress or poor-sleep days, and cycle-linked patterns, as drivers in their own right. Not just food, and not just as footnotes.

Test it, don't guess

Run a guided with-and-without test to check whether a suspected trigger, or a soothing food, really makes a difference for you.

Hidden ingredient scans

So a "natural flavours" label doesn't hide what sets you off. Minthe reads E-numbers and the aliases manufacturers hide behind. Browse the FODMAP food list free.

The loop that actually gets you an answer

Most tracking apps stop at "here's a correlation". A correlation is a hypothesis, not an answer. Minthe is built to close the loop.

  1. Log

Meals and symptoms, quickly enough that you keep doing it. Skipping a day is fine: Minthe treats an unlogged day as unknown, never as "no symptoms".

  2. Notice

Once there is genuinely enough data, Minthe surfaces a possible pattern, with how confident it is and what else was going on those days.

  3. Test

You choose to test a suspect. Minthe schedules the challenge days and washouts, and works around what you have already logged.

  4. Know

A result you can act on, or an honest "this one didn't hold up". Both are worth having.

Private by design

Your logs live on your device and sync only to your own private iCloud. We don't sell your data, show ads, or build advertising profiles. The only thing that leaves your device is an optional AI photo or label scan, and you choose when that happens. We keep the list of foods a scan identifies, not the photo itself. The privacy policy spells out exactly what that means.

How Minthe handles your data

Not a diet app

Minthe is about relief and understanding, not weight or calories. Any energy estimate is optional and secondary. There are no streaks to break and nothing in the app is designed to make you feel bad about a day you'd rather forget.

Even the severity scale is deliberately calm. A hard day shows as muted clay, not alarm red, because colouring every bad day in warning colours trains anxiety and reads as the app scolding you.

Common questions

Is Minthe a diet or calorie counting app?

No. Minthe is about relief and understanding, not weight or calories. Any energy estimate is optional and secondary, and there are no streaks, no guilt states and no calorie framing anywhere in the app.

How does Minthe work out my trigger foods?

It compares how often you get symptoms after eating a given food against your own personal base rate, then reports the risk ratio with a Wilson confidence interval. A suspect is only surfaced once it clears four gates: enough exposures, a large enough effect, an interval that excludes no-effect, and a real contrast against your base rate. It also corrects for testing many foods at once. The full method is published here.

Does Minthe diagnose IBS, SIBO or food intolerance?

No. Minthe is a wellness and self-tracking tool, not a medical device. It surfaces hypotheses to discuss with a clinician, never diagnoses. If you have red-flag symptoms it will tell you to seek medical care rather than keep tracking.

Where is my data stored?

Your logs live on your device and sync only to your own private iCloud. Minthe does not sell your data, show ads, or build advertising profiles. The only thing that leaves your device is an optional AI photo or label scan, and we keep the foods it identifies rather than the photo.

Do I have to pay to log my meals and symptoms?

No. Manual logging is free and unlimited, and always will be. Putting a paywall on basic tracking would starve the very data the pattern engine depends on. Paid tiers unlock AI scans, the correlation engine, guided food trials and lab test insights. See pricing.

Start with one week of logging

That is usually enough to see your own base rate, which is where every real answer starts.

Minthe is a wellness and self-tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat any condition and isn't a substitute for professional medical advice. If you have red-flag symptoms such as blood in your stool, unintentional weight loss, difficulty swallowing, persistent vomiting or a fever alongside gut symptoms, see a clinician rather than tracking them.
